Australia’s known for its coffee culture, and Hervey Bay does not disappoint when it comes to places to indulge in copious amounts of coffee. We’ve done the leg work and found plenty of coffee havens to suit all of your caffeine (smoothie, milkshake, cakes or otherwise!) needs. Here are just a few of our favorites:
Operation Underground
Nestled in Bideford St, Torquay Operation Underground is a must-visit. Serving delicious Tim Adams Coffee, owner Matt Suckling and his staff will certainly make you feel welcome.
Serving not just great coffee but cool beats and a small but awesome Operation Underground retail line this coffee shop will have you making friends in the Bay fast. Nobody leaves Operation Underground without feeling better than they arrived!
THE SPOTTED GOAT
The Spotted Goat situated at 486 Esplanade, Torquay is a foodies paradise. Serving delicious coffee and great food in a trendy coastal style space, The Spotted Goat is a must for breakfast, lunch or a coffee break
Petroni
Boutique cafe slinging ‘Single O’ coffee, and home to Australian branded wares. #petronihb. Browse through the cool range of gifts while waiting for your brew and definitely worth indulging in one of the amazing slices or cookies on offer. You will not be disappointed.
Enzo’s on the beach
The iconic Enzo’s on the Beach is an all day cafe and late night destination on weekends that simply has the most amazing location in the Bay. Coffee is great, food is awesome but cocktails while watching the sunset is a memory you will hold for ever… Regular live music adds to the vibe means you may stay a lot longer than you anticipated. But no fear, Woolshed Eco Lodge is only a 4/5min walk away!
Bayaroma
And last but not least. Our ultimate Woolshed Favorite! Walking into Bayaroma you are instantly made to feel welcome, with friendly staff on hand to greet you. We indulged in their decadent hot chocolate (which came topped with cream and marshmallows – a big plus for me!) and an affogato. If you’ve never tried one before – like we hadn’t – or are a fan waiting to get your affogato fix in Hervey Bay we’d definitely recommend it. Likewise, if you’re more of a straight-up coffee person, they’ve got all you need with great quality coffee and speedy service. These guys are really passionate about their coffee, and will happily explain the what’s, where’s, and whys to you. Food is pretty bloody good as well!
